Episode Notes

Junior Achievement of South Florida is impacting the lives of many young people today by helping them understand the world of business. Much of the success can be attributed to their passionate CEO who is driven to help others.

Laurie Sallarulo is not one for excuses. She likes to get things done and is not about making excuses. After a few months of mediocre results in her venture into the nonprofit world, she knew she had to make some changes to make things happen. And she did!

She learned much from her parents, her Dad, who was an avid baseball player and coach, after he was hired to be a baseball coach for a school, torched a field of brush to help create a baseball field after he was told there was no room in the budget to create one. That is "getting it done" ladies and gentlemen!

Her mom, started out as a substitute teacher to work her way up the chain to becoming a leading Administrator of the school department.

This helped shape Laurie as she began her career in the nonprofit sector. Expecting people that lead their department to be CEOs of that department, has helped dramatically in getting results.

Laurie leads the fundraising charge. Some say she is relentless. That's a good thing in the role that she's in. She knows that she is in the world of Sales and she will not stop in her pursuit. Just because one says No, doesn't mean she won't ask again. Whether that be for money, mentoring, sharing time or whatever else to help the journey.
